The Lincoln Academy is a free K4-12 public charter school located in Beloit, Wisconsin, and serves over 700 scholars.
The Lincoln Academy has three pillars - Academic Rigor, Character Development, and Career Exploration.
Academic Rigor: We will ensure all scholars are prepared with foundational skills. This will be accomplished through specifically designed curriculum, interventions, enrichment, blended learning opportunities, strong professional development, coaching, and a growth mindset expectation.
Character Development: A strong emphasis on character development and citizenship will build our school culture. Civic responsibility, service learning and community outreach will play an important role in developing character in our scholars. Restorative Practices and Character Strong for character education will guide The Lincoln Academy in a joyous, collaborative, and healthy school environment where all scholars thrive.
Career Exploration: Career exploration will begin in K4, and scholars will develop an Individualized Learning Plan by 8th grade to help guide them in their course selections in high school. Scholars will set career goals and be fully prepared to graduate high school. They will be able to have choices to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college or technical school, enlist in the armed forces, or be employed in a living-wage job.

The Athletic Director is the person responsible for managing all aspects of The Lincoln Academy’s K-12 athletic programs ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and scholar development goals. It is the expectation that this individual will work closely with school leadership, colleagues, parents, and scholars to promote scholar accountability and school spirit. The Lincoln Academy is a school where scholars and families are supported while maintaining high expectations for all. The Athletic Director is expected to fully embrace the school’s methodology and uphold the high expectations of The Lincoln Academy. The Athletic Director will support an equitable environment with rigorous instruction, joyous interactions, and strong community partnerships. Though it is impossible to list all roles the Athletic Director will fill, specific job responsibilities include:
Essential Functions:
Stay current on WIAA and NFHS policies and ensure the athletic program adheres to all rules and regulations
Attend all conference-level AD, WIAA, and WADA meetings and serve as the voting representative for The Lincoln Academy
Oversee the planning, coordination, and administration of all athletic events
Maintain and update a calendar of athletic seasons and activities
Monitor all athletic activities to ensure compliance with school policies and WIAA guidelines
Attend all home athletic contests and/or arrange for proper leadership supervision
Schedule officials and coordinate their payments
Train and schedule entrance ticket workers, scorekeepers, time clock workers, and line judges for home events and coordinate their payments if applicable
Assist in coordinating home game concessions with the Principal
Ensure all home athletic events have security scheduled
Hire, supervise, evaluate, and support coaches and ensure they are following school policies and WIAA guidelines
Communicate weekly athletic activities with the Principal and Marketing & Communications Coordinator
Arrange transportation for practices and athletic events
Develop a facility use schedule for practices and competitions and assist coaches in locating practice facilities
Plan and conduct Parent/Scholar Athletic Code Meetings
Develop and maintain JV patch and Varsity letter-earning tracking system
Plan and conduct Athletic Banquets
Manage inventory of all athletic equipment and apparel and ensure timely purchasing if needed
Ensure all scholar athlete eligibility requirements are met to include all necessary athletic eligibility forms are completed, signed, and properly maintained
Review scholar athlete grades quarterly and administer eligibility requirements
Review and administer athletic code violations
Review and revise The Lincoln Academy Extra-Curricular Code of Conduct Handbook
Collaborate with the Administrative Assistant to support in various athletic tasks
Promote sports within the school and engage in positive public relations with families and the community
Develop annual goals for the athletic program
Other duties as requested

Maintain a permanent file of athletes including their medical examinations, insurance forms, parent consent forms, etc.
Maintain permanent records for each sport such as wins and losses, outstanding records, and individual awarded varsity letters, honors, and athletic scholarships

Adaptability in working with various age groups ranging from Kindergarten to high school
Commitment to professional growth and personal development
Requisitos
Education
Bachelor’s degree in education, sports management, or related field
Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or sports administration preferred
Experience
Previous experience as a coach
Experience working with middle and high school scholars in an urban setting
Familiarity with WIAA and NFHS policies and procedures
Licensing
WI Teaching License
WI Administrator License preferred
Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting Certification required annually before first day with scholars
Physical Demands/Working Conditions: The majority of this job involves walking, sitting or standing necessary to observe school activities, mostly indoors. The ability to physically perform the duties and work in the school setting is required. Some conditions include:
Must be able to stand up to 2 hours instructing staff or instructing a classroom of learners
Must be able to sit and look at a computer monitor, using a keyboard/mouse and typing for up to 2 hours at a time
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs on a frequent basis
